Press Statement

Current Status of our Primary and Sceondary Schools

Paper Presented by Mrs. Jane Ejueyitshie-Oroye. Keynote Speaker at Ugbajo Itsekiri USA Incorporated 11th Annual National Convention.
Education provided by government at primary and secondary schools is universal and free. It is also compulsory at primary to junior secondary levels. Most of the schools in the country belong to this category, as education is a social service rendered by government. However there are some schools/institutions owned by private individuals/bodies, these schools are known as private schools/institutions where fees are charged, they are however expected to meet the standards set by government. The schools belonging to government are known as public schools. Our concern in this paper will be the public schools.
